A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for allegedly killing his parents at a village in Limpopo.
The suspect, identified as the biological son of the late 74-year-old madala and a stepson of a woman (58), was arrested on Tuesday, 11 July, at the house where the incident happened.
The crime scene discovered on Tuesday, 4 July, showed an elderly couple lying in a pool of blood in their bedroom, bearing multiple stab wounds.
Following an intelligence-driven operation conducted by the provincial tracking team, murder and robbery unit, Vuwani cops, and Thohoyandou Local Criminal Record Centre, the arrest was made.
The residents are still shocked and need answers regarding the motive behind this horrific act.
Mathule's Sanco branch chairperson, Khathutshelo Ramukosi, told Daily Sun they are still shocked about the incident.
"It's heartbreaking, and it is the first time we've experienced something like this as a community," said Ramukosi.
In response to the tragedy, the community held a meeting on Sunday, 9 July, where a collective decision was made to resume street patrols.
“We believe that patrolling will eradicate the alarming increase in crime that has been adversely impacting their community,” said Ramukosi.

According to Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, preliminary investigations revealed that the intruder entered the house by cutting the burglar door and forcibly opening it.
“It was also established that the elderly man's social grant card and identification book were stolen,” said Ledwaba.
The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident, emphasising the need for peaceful resolution of family issues rather than resorting to violence.
“The excellent detective work and well-coordinated operation by these members is highly commendable,” said Hadebe.
The suspect will appear in the Vuwani Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 13, facing charges that include two counts of murder, housebreaking with intent to commit theft, and theft.
The victims' family refused to speak to Daily Sun.
