ALL eyes will be on Lucky Lekgwathi on Thursday, 1 December.
The former Orlando Pirates captain will be acting as ambassador at the annual Madibeng Netball and Soccer Festival.
The festival takes place at Sekwati Primary School in Mmakau, North West.
A three-day sports management and administration workshop will also be held from Thursday to Saturday.
It will focus on netball and soccer methodology and will be conducted by Netball SA and the South African Football Coaches Association.
Lucky said the Madibeng Municipality was not far from where he grew up.
“I come from Soshanguve in Tshwane, so I feel at home,” he said.
Lucky said as event ambassador, he would work with sponsors such as De Wildt Solar to make sure things were done correctly.

“Being the ambassador means I must use my knowledge and experience to help get great players into the professional ranks,” he said.
“It can be done as the South African Football Coaches Association is known for producing talent.
“My presence will inspire the players to surpass what I attained.”
He said a lot of work needed to be done to get things right for the sake of the kids.
“How does a community where the likes of Patrice Motsepe grew up not have proper sports structures?” he asked.
Lucky said he was working on starting the Lucky Lekgwathi Academy.
“The people of Soshanguve, Mabopane, Ga-Rankuwa, Mmakau and surrounding areas deserve more and I am working on that,” he said.
Project director and former Moroka Swallows player Patrick Baloyi said the aim of the festival was to expose coaches to talented youngsters.
“Thanks to the sponsors who opened the door when I came knocking,” he said.
