FIVE people were shot and killed in KTC, Gugulethu while sitting in their cars drinking beer.
The incident happened at about 5.15pm on Fenqe Street on Monday, 25 September.
Among the dead is a 46-year-old lawyer from the area and a prison warden from the Hazeldene in Philippi.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of five men inside two VW Polo vehicles.
According to a witness who spoke to Daily Sun, the killers were driving a Toyota Quantum without a registration number.
“They drove at high speed after the shooting incident. The deceased had parked their cars for over two hours while drinking booze. They were playing music and having fun. The shooting happened unexpectedly. We are shocked,” said the witness.

Western Cape police spokeswoman Brigadier Novela Potelwa confirmed the incident.
She said detectives are busy probing the murder of five men in Gugulethu.
“Provincial organised crime detectives have initiated a murder investigation following an incident where five individuals were shot and killed by yet-to-be identified gunmen on Monday in Gugulethu,” said Novela.
She said reports at the disposal of police indicate that the victims were sitting inside two vehicles when another vehicle with armed men emerged, and shots were fired at the occupants of the two vehicles.
"Five men between the ages of 46 and 52 were subsequently killed,” said Novela.
She said the motive of the attack is unknown at this stage.
