LOOKING at how technology will dominate the future, a woman saw a need to help kids from rural areas.
Thando Gumede (29) from Hluhluwe, KZN, opened a school specialising in science, technology, engineering, coding and robotics.
She said she aims to assist rural kids by supporting the curriculum, as it is known that the world will be dominated by robots sooner or later.
Thando said BSG and Technologies CPS started with grades from RR to 8 but in 2023, they have up to grade 9. She said every they will add a grade until they get to matric.
Thando said they plan to make it 100% digital and make it a boarding school, hence they would love this to benefit not only the community, but Mzansi as a whole.
"Relevant skills such as coding and robotics will be in high demand, which is the main reason why I opened such a school," she said.
Thando said she aims to implement a curriculum which will equip young minds with the skills needed to strive in this digital era.

"The plan is to build a state-of-the-art digitised school with a clearly defined friendly environment that will stimulate young creative minds," said Thando.
"My first matriculants will be in 2026/2027, with affordable cost from R750 per month for grade R and adds only R50 as the grade go higher and higher," she said.
She said the plan is to have digital favouring classes, boarding facilities and relevant equipment so that their objectives can be reached with perfection, meaning more financial intervention would be appreciated.
"I have been working really hard so that my work is not recognised only here in South Africa, but across the whole of Africa," she said.
She said she was recently crowned Miss Dot Africa Digital 2022/2023, where she competed against 15 African countries.
"My journey of innovating young minds through 4IR-related education began in 2016 when I began working with schools around uMkhanyakude District Municipality and KZN at large, and I have always been passionate about science and technology, as well as spreading that love to the young minds," she said.
