THE family of a heavily pregnant teacher who was brutally killed said although they will never see her again, at least justice has been served.
This is because the Ladysmith Regional Court sentenced Nokubonga Dubazane (40) and Mqapheli Miya (49) to 25 years in jail on Monday, 24 July.
The two will be joining their co-accused Nkosingiphile Ngubane (39), who was sentenced to life imprisonment.
All three were sentenced for the murder of Hlengiwe Ndaba (34) who was a teacher at Phasiwe Primary School.
Hlengiwe’s body was found burnt beyond recognition inside her car on 22 July 2020 in a forest in Emmaus in Winterton, KZN.

The KZN cops' spokeswoman Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said during the investigation it was revealed that Dubazane worked with the deceased, and on the day of the incident she brought her lunch which was laced with poison.
"When the deceased became weak, she was taken to Miya’s house where she was strangled to death. Her body was then moved to the forest where she was set alight," said Constable Ngcobo.
Ngcobo said it was also discovered that Dubazane wanted to take Ndaba’s job since she was almost due for maternity leave.
She believed that if she killed Ndaba she would get her job and become permanently employment in the position of the deceased.
Hlengiwe’s relative who asked not to be named as she fears for her life, told Daily Sun on Tuesday 25 July that they are happy with police's job.
"I know very well that this will not bring back my sister but I'm happy that finally justice has been served. I must also mention that as a family we are happy with the police's job," she said.
On 21 July 2020, Hlengiwe who was eight months pregnant left her home and didn't come back.
On 23 July 2020, her remains were found burnt beyond recognition in her bakkie.
