POLICE and emergency services are on high alert following the torching of yet another set of trucks in KZN.
On Monday night, 10 July, three more trucks were burnt by unknown armed men on N2 at Canefields between eNseleni and Empangeni, northern KZN.
This is a similar incident that played out on a weekend where six trucks were also set alight by an armed group at Van Reenens Pass in the early hours of Sunday morning, 9 July.
City of uMhlathuze spokesman Bongani Gina confirmed that their emergency services responded to an incident involving three freight trucks that caught fire on the N2.
"Fortunately, all drivers were able to escape unharmed. The South African Police Service is currently handling the situation," said Gina.

KZN police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker said three trucks were set alight as they were on a queue along the N2 freeway.
"It is alleged that a group of armed men attacked the drivers of the two trucks and robbed them of their belongings. The men were forced out of the trucks before the trucks were set alight. Police in Empangeni are investigating a case of armed robbery, malicious damage to property, and attempted murder," said Naicker.
"A large police deployment, including the Public Order Policing Unit, is monitoring the situation," said Naicker.
RTI spokeswoman Zinhle Mngomezulu said they thanked God no one was killed, but cited massive damage.
