A KING who was known for donating land to Mamelodi flood victims in Tshwane has died.

King Ntana Lekhuleni of Mapulana Mambayi Pai of the Bakutswe Tribal in Mamelodi West died on Friday, 4 March, in Mamelodi.

He had donated land to 50 flood victims in February and later to all 700 victims from 77 Balfour Lake. Daily Sun published the story in February.

Lekhuleni, originally from Hazyview in Mpumalanga, said at the time: “I am giving flood victims the land for free and they will not pay even a cent.”

Victims were already erecting shacks at their area, that they have called Boiketlong Lekhuleni Village.

Beneficiary Refilwe Molokho (43) said: “This is so painful. Why did God take him so quickly?”

Lizzy Rampora (42) said they were wishing for his soul to rest in peace, and that everyone was still shocked about his death.

The family confirmed that Lekhuleni died at home, and said they would release more information in due course.
