TWO San young men from Springbok in Northern Cape have called on South Africans to go back to using traditional medicine for a better life.
The San people are commonly known as Bushmen.
The two young men, Saknas Silver Xai and Saknas Brown Nama, launched a 360 days journey travelling all over the country in their traditional attire. They want to encourage people to go back to traditional medicine.
According to Silver Xai, the initiator of the journey, Bushmen medicine cures chronic diseases and helps with emotional healing.
Speaking to Daily Sun on Sunday, 10 March, Silver said: "We have introduced Kalahari traditional medicine to many South Africans who are now free from illness. We have discovere that our forefathers were living their lives to the fullest using traditional medicine. They were healthy and fit enough to travel thousands of kilometres on foot. We encourage Mzansi to revert back to traditional medicine. This medicine has no side effects."

Silver Xai used Covid-19 Pandemic as reference to build his case that traditional medicine is strong enough to cure any disease without the involvement of Western medication.
"We can attest that many people were helped by traditional medication during the deadly Covid-19 pandemic to save lives. The Western imperialist modified our traditional medication and included their chemicals only for profit. The were no medical doctors 160 000 years ago when our forefathers enjoyed their lives with natural medicine surrounding them," he said.
Silver Xai rejected the approval of the National Health Insurance (NHI) by majority in Parliament. He said NHI is a highly orchestrated promotion of Western medication pretending to accommodate poor black communities.
