KGOSHI Mathibela Mokoena has joined the call for Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan and Eskom Group CEO Andre de Ruyter to be fired.
“This a call from the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) as the leadership in that department, in the form of Gordhan, has failed dismally. He’s just there as minister,” said Mokoena, who is the president of Contralesa.
He said De Ruyter only appeared in the media to give updates on how we were going to be in the dark.
“He has no plans. He does not announce to South Africans that we have put plans in place or there’s no more load shedding.”
He said the sooner President Cyril Ramaphosa removed them, the better.

“If he can’t do that, it might prompt us to also say something about him. Let the president get better people with experience who can rescue our country from this mess we are in,” he said, adding that many people were facing disruptions due to load shedding.
“Students can’t study because there’s no electricity. One person died on an oxygen machine that was switched off because of load shedding.”
He said women were also being raped while small business were badly affected.
“The only solution is for Ramaphosa to call a panel of experts to assist him in a deep investigation to check what can be done.”
