It's been raining for several days and the potholes keep getting worse.

Officers Fondile, Tsatsimpe and Modise from Region C Operations took it upon themselves to assist in filling a huge pothole.

This happened today at Main Reef road at the entrance of Afrisam and at Houtkapper Street, Rand Leases in Roodepoort to prevent further accidents. Residents have been applauding them for their great work.

"These potholes are dangerous especially when the weather is like this. We're happy to see JMPD officers filling them but we'd really like to see the JRA fix all these because it's their job," said Sandile Nobela.

George Mavela gave thanks to the JMPD officers but highlighted how this is exposing the municipality's incompetence. "Officials who're supposed to be doing that job are currently well within their warm blankets when someone else is doing the job, embarrassing," said George.

Robert Cele applauded the officers for a great job and said these men must get promotions. "I use that road every day and I'm happy to see these potholes closed, they've caused alot of accidents," said Suzanne Mokoneni.

Koki Mathibedi said her car was ruined by one of those potholes just last month and she even decided to take a longer route to work, just to avoid them. "This was costing me petrol and that pothole cost me a lot of money to fix my car. I'm happy to see the officers closing them up," said Koki.
