A MAN described as a “jealous lover” was beaten up and arrested for allegedly running over his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, as well as the woman’s child on Sunday, 7 August.
A witness told the SunTeam the man drove his BMW over his ex’s boyfriend three times, leaving him dead at the scene.
The three people were apparently walking on a pavement in Summer Greens in Cape Town when the ex-boyfriend ran over them with a BMW.
The woman and her child were rushed to hospital.
The driver allegedly parked the car at Century City and walked away on foot, but some people identified him.
He was attacked by a group of people and handed over to cops.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Arnold Chingwe (35),a friend of the woman, said she had left the perpetrator because of his abusive behaviour.
“They were dating but she ended the relationship three months ago. But he never accepted it. He went around and threatened every man interested in her,” he said.
A video of the driver of the vehicle sitting at the back of a bakkie with a crowd beating him up has been circulated online.
Some of the people in the video are heard calling him names while others are calling for him to be burnt alive.
“He doesn’t deserve to live, we want petrol to burn him alive,” one man shouts.
Cop spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said: “Milnerton police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.”
