accreditation

ILLEGAL connections have claimed the lives of four people in Mpumalanga.

The first incident was reported last Thursday where a teenage girl (16), who was with her boyfriend at the time, stepped on wet electricity cables. She was electrocuted and died instantly.

In a separate incident, another victim was electrocuted while trying to fix an electric fault.

Then a 36-year-old woman from Kamaqhekeza was electrocuted while working her field. The victim had burnt bruises on her arm. She was taken to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy from Kamhlushwa died after he was electrocuted by cables while he had been sent to a neighbour’s house.

Police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala has since called on community members to refrain from doing illegal connections as more lives might be lost.
