HE was coming back from a tavern where he was grooving the whole night.
In the early hours of the morning on Monday, 26 June, he decided to drive home to sleep. But he found tsotsis waiting for him. As he got out to open the gate, the tsotsis pushed him away and took his VW Polo.
After he sobered up, the victim contacted the police and also reported his stolen car to a vehicle tracking company. His car was found dumped in Endayeni section, Ivory Park in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni with two wheels and a battery missing.
Lieutenant-Colonel Kelebogile Thepa of Ekurhuleni Metro police said on Monday 26 June at around 7.30am, officers received a call regarding the location of a motor vehicle that was hijacked in Ivory Park on Freedom Street.

"The officers swiftly proceeded to the co-ordinates given to them by the vehicle tracking company. On arrival, members found a vehicle, a silver-grey VW Polo Vivo hatchback, matching the description of the reported hijacked vehicle," she said.
She said on closer observation, Metro cops realised that two wheels, the battery inside the engine, a smartphone and a wallet which had R300,were stolen from the car.
"The vehicle was handed over to the owner after showing the original documents."
She said the victim had no injuries and although no arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing.
