THE International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) in partnership with Tau Project put a smile on 18 Umkhonto Wesizwe military veterans from KZN.
The military veterans received certificates of VIP Protection at Oskraal in Jerusalem City, North West on Wednesday, 22 November.
The national interim committee member of uMkhonto Wesizwe Liberation War Veterans (MKLWV), Pearl Gasa, said they spoke to Bishop Michael Sandlana that the military veterans in KZN wanted to do a course to develop themselves and get opportunities of work to put food on the table, to send their kids to school and have a life like other people.
She said previously, she told Sandlana that the military veterans wanted to do security and VIP protection because there are opportunities in KZN.
"He told me to bring them so that he can train them, and they will work for him," he said.

She said Sandlana trained 18 individuals which 14 of them are military veterans and four are beneficiaries.
Gasa said they're appealing to organisations and other people to help other military veterans.
Gasa said they were in exile and left school to improve the life of a black child.
"The freedom is now benefiting those who were never in exile. Those who sacrificed their lives are overlooked," she said.
Military veteran Phasile Mbhali (62) said they are thankful for the certificates.
"We're thankful to the man of God who helped us. We're members of the ANC. Umkhonto Wesizwe is the military wing of the ANC," he said.
National coordinator of Tau Project Priest Japhtha Baloyi said their mission is to assist widows, orphans, destitute and sick people.
"We realise that Umkhonto Wesizwe needed assistance. We're always available to assist," he said.
