SIBONGILE Maphumolo said her sangoma son left one morning in 2020 to dig up herbs and never returned.
The 55-year-old from Bekkersdal, Rand West City, said her son Mandla (32) was staying with his younger sister at the time of his disappearance.
“I am told he woke up very early in the morning to go to the veld but never came back,” she said.
Now Sibongile is having a strange dream where she sees her son in chains.
“I see him crying for help but I don’t know how to help him. I don’t know where he is,” she said.
She said she consulted a sangoma and he told her Mandla was still alive.
“I want the people who have him to free him. I don’t know where my son is or what he is eating,” she said.
“Mandla was so gifted. We may never know what the people who have him want to do with him.”
Sibongile described Mandla as a quiet and neat person who didn’t like arguments.

“His sister says he was wearing black jeans with blue and white Nike takkies.
“Mandla worked as a supervisor at Transnet before he followed the path his ancestors wanted him to take. Please, Daily Sun, help me find my son.”
