I know the man who attacked us

accreditation

A MOTHER and her daughters are living in fear.

This comes after a man broke into their home in Marikana, Soshanguve in Tshwane on Sunday and allegedly tried to rape them.

The 37-year-old woman told Daily Sun she was asleep when a man came in through the zincs.

“He said I mustn’t do anything because he will shoot me,” she said.

“He got hold of my 19-year-old daughter and threw her on the bed as if he was going to rape her.”

The mother said she managed to escape and run to the neighbour’s house.

“I screamed for help and the man ran away. But I recognised him. I know him but I don’t know his name.”

She said angry people from the community hunted him down and beat him up. They called the police and he was arrested,” she said.

But it’s not the end of the terror for the woman and her children.

She said her neighbours told her that the man came back and was banging on her gate when they weren’t there.

“I was terrified when I heard he was back. I called Daily Sun because I don’t know what else to do.”

She said when she asked the police about the man being released, they told her the case wasn’t serious.

“We need help. I don’t want my kids to be hurt.”

Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Khweza said a case of house breaking was opened at Rietgat Police Station.

“A suspect was arrested.”
