How gogo got justice from the grave

accreditation

GOGO Amanda Tsatsi could not fight off her attackers on the night she was brutally murdered.

But she fought from beyond the grave by haunting one of the suspects, allegedly forcing him to confess.

The 74-year-old from Ngobi Village in North West was found dead on Tuesday, 9 August after she was allegedly assaulted, raped and killed on Sunday 7, August.

Gogo’s grandson, Obakeng Tsatsi, (33) said he got a call telling him the horrible news at work. “When I got home, the police explained to us that gogo was also raped. I couldn’t get inside to see her body,” he said.

“I just want the killers to be punished hard.”

According to family member Lilian Rikgothe (68), neighbours said someone was going around the area saying he killed the gogo.

Lilian said gogo Amanda was a prayer warrior and that was why one of the killers allegedly confessed.

She said before the gogo was killed, she was hit with a heavy object. Money was also stolen.

“What happened to our loved one is very cruel. We just want the killers to be hanged. The manner in which they killed her left us traumatised,” she said.

Another family member Daniel Motaung (60) said the loss was painful.

“She attended a stokvel and had R15 000 with her. We believe the thugs knew she had money and that’s why they killed her,” he said.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Adele Myburgh said the police were investigating cases of rape, murder and house robbery.

She said it was believed the two suspects, aged 35 and 40, forced entry into the gogo’s home before raping her and hitting her with an object

She said two suspects were arrested after one of them allegedly confessed and would appear in court soon.
