FORMER SABC chief operating officer and leader of the African Content Movement (ACM), Hlaudi Motsoeneng, has a strong warning for Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.

"The Chief Justice must stay in his lane. He must focus on constitutional law. We can't have a Chief Justice who keeps attacking former president Jacob Zuma. Chief Justice, be warned, focus on the Constitution. We are aware that Zondo has a problem with Zuma," Motsoeneng said.

He said this during his voter registration campaign at Phuthaditjhaba Stadium in Free State on Saturday, 18 November.

Motsoeneng criticised Zondo for taking the role of being celebrity instead of focusing on the constitution.

He claimed that Zondo was seen taking photos with people at a mall in KZN during the State Capture Commission, which gave a different impression of his work.

"Because the media is always after him, he sees himself as a celebrity. He's compromised and South Africans no longer take the judiciary seriously because of his irritating behaviour," Motsoeneng said.

Zondo was interviewed on Newzroom Afrika on Monday, 13 November where he gave his views on various issues relating to corruption, government's failure to implement the State Capture recommendations and government's decision to grant Zuma a reduced sentence.

Zuma was convicted for contempt of court but was later released.

The dispute between Zondo and Zuma started during the State Capture Commission of Inquiry when Zuma demanded that Zondo resign as chairman of the commission.
