A TRUCK driver is recovering after his vehicle collided with a hippo on the R33 road between Modimolle and Vaalwater on Tuesday evening, 7 March.

The hippo died on the scene.

Limpopo transport spokeswoman Tidimalo Chuene said the driver lost control of the truck and it overturned and lost its load.
