A DARK cloud continues to hang over the heads of the South African National Defence Force as more and more soldiers die.
On Friday 6 October, a wildfire raged at the SA Army's Combat Training Centre in the Northern Cape, killing six soldiers and injuring several others.
The soldiers killed are Sergeant Abraham Marajane, Sergeant Sipho Cele, Sithembiso Ndwalane, Noxolo Ngubane, Prince Mthethwa, as well as Londiwe Zulu.
While the members mourn the fallen soldiers, South African National Defence Force Chief General Rudzani Maphwanya said they must not lose sight of the work at hand and that training will continue.
A deadly shooting at a church has left residents scared for the lives. Prophet Dwayne Gordan was shot dead, and three churchgoers injured when six gunmen stormed into a church in Newlands, Joburg on Friday, 6 October.
At the time of the incident, the prophet had been standing in the pulpit in front of the congregation and preaching.

Cash-In-Transit heist continue to spike. Gauteng police have launched a manhuant for 10 to 15 suspects who are linked to a CIT robbery on the N12 near Diepkloof, Soweto.
In the incident which happened on Saturday, 7 October, a woman was kidnapped, and four Fidelity security guards were shot at during the robbery.
Parts of Gauteng continue to struggle with a water crisis. Rand Water said that the Eikenhof pumping station is experiencing problems with its operation, resulting in low water pressure in some parts of the city and no water in some areas.
Eskom said load shedding has been suspended until 4pm on Monday, 10 October.
This comes as generation performance improved. The power utility said stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 4pm until 5am on Tuesday, 10 October.
