VUYOKAZI Matinise was happy when she fell pregnant with her twin boys.

Her boyfriend was also over the moon and promised to look after their precious gifts.

But he disappeared two weeks after the twins were born.

The babies are now six months old and the 34-year-old mum from Ramaphosa Squatter Camp, Cape Town, is struggling to look after the babies as she’s unemployed.

Vuyokazi is asking SunReaders for help with food for her kids, diapers and building her own shack.

“The father of my kids didn’t have a phone when he disappeared, so I can’t get hold of him,” she said.

“I love my kids and will ensure all their needs are met. But it’s hard.

“I cry most of the time, especially when I don’t have food in the house.”

She told Daily Sun she’s forced to give the twins cow milk although she knows it’s not good for their health.

“I’m left with no option because I’m unable to breastfeed when I have had nothing to eat.”

Vuyokazi also has to pay rent for the shack, which leaks when it rains.

According to the mother, one twin was recently diagnosed with pneumonia due to the cold conditions inside her shack.

Neighbour Siphokuhle Nomatyidyo (26) said she’s been supporting Vuyokazi and her babies.

“It breaks my heart to see her struggle with the kids. I always give her support. I don’t work, but help as best as I can,” she said.
