Western Cape is seeking the assistance of the public to trace Philiswa Lwana.

THE Bellville Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Western Cape needs help to find Philiswa Lwana.

According to Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, the 43-year-old was reported missing in November 2021.

She claimed she was abducted and repeatedly raped by unknown suspects at a residence close to Tygervalley Mall in Bellville.

“The investigating officer went the proverbial extra mile to save her out of the claws of the suspects in a bid to reunite her with her family,” said Swartbooi.

Further investigation revealed that the information provided by Philiswa now appears to be fabricated and false.

A charge of defeating the ends of justice has since been registered. Anyone with information on Philiswa’s whereabouts can contact Detective Sergeant Conrad Van Zyl on 082 522 1095 or CrimeStop on 08600 10111.

Resident Zukisani Mvandaba (40) wishes for Philiswa to be arrested.

“Women must stop faking these things because they are damaging other people’s reputation,” said Zukisani.
