FREE State police have launched a manhunt for a 37-year- old murder and rape suspect, who allegedly murdered his girlfriend on Wednesday, 14 December, at section M in Botshabelo.

Sergeant Sinah Mpakane said police request the community’s help in locating the suspect, Morena Samson Moleko, who allegedly murdered Maleshoane Majola (29).

Mpakane said police received information about a murder and on arrival, they found the body of the deceased lying on the floor.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple were drinking alcohol together on Monday, 12 December, with neighbours before Moleko chased them away.

“It was indicated that Moleko was seen taking a taxi on a nearby road holding a bag, saying he had found a job. He then called the deceased’s sister, informing her that he had killed the deceased and left her inside the house,” said Mpakane.

Mpakane said Moleko is also a wanted suspect as per the warrant of arrest that was issued against him for rape.

“A reward is promised for any information that can lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of Moleko.”

Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect is requested to call Detective Sergeant Itumeleng Mara from Botshabelo Police Station at 079 652 8394, contact CrimeStop on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPS app.
