THE WORLD will probably never know what actually happened on that night of unspeakable horror.
It’s hard to believe the evidence as it stands, but we know that four young kids died in that hut on Tuesday night.
WE KNOW THEY WERE STRUCK WITH A HAMMER, ONE AFTER THE OTHER, UNTIL THEY LAY DEAD!
According to a police report, the 32-year-old mum was sleeping in their home in Tsalaba Village in Engcobo, Eastern Cape with her four kids on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, the four bodies of her children were found in the rondavel.
“The preliminary investigation reveals they had been assaulted by their own mum with a hammer. They suffered serious injuries to the upper bodies,” said provincial police spokesman Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana.
“Police don’t want to speculate on the cause of this incident as the investigation about the circumstances will form part of the investigation,” he said.
“The mother was immediately arrested and will be charged with four counts of murder. She is expected to appear in Engcobo Magistrates Court once charged.”
Director of children’s rights organisation Khula Community Development Project, Petros Majola, said: “We have learnt with shock of the killing of these children aged two, five, nine and 11,” said Majola.

The kids were pupils at Gulandoda Primary School and their teachers and other pupils are not coping with what happened.
“It is alleged that the mother said she wanted to make sure that she does not leave orphans when she died,” said Majola.
Eastern Cape Social Development MEC Bukiwe Fanta expressed her shock.
“Our social workers have already visited the family, as you can imagine there is a dire need for psychosocial support to the family and the village at large,” said Fanta.
The MEC will also visit the family during the course of the week.
