THE Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture plans to intensify its Smart Agriculture initiatives such as Tunnel House Farming and Agricultural Smart Boxes.
According to the department, this will help farmers to continue planting and have good yields even under the bad climatic conditions caused by climate change.
This comes after more than 200 devastated farmers' fresh produce was destroyed by a violent storm on Wednesday, 10 May following a hailstorm that destroyed their fresh produce, which includes spinach, tomatoes, chillies, mielies, cabbage, pumpkins, beans, as well as butternuts.
