“I’M sorry I couldn’t save you”.
These are the words of Bokgabo’s father, Irvin Ndlovu. The search for Bokgabo Poo (4), who has been missing, has come to an end and unfortunately, she has died.
Bokgabo from Wattville in Ekurhuleni, who was kidnapped on 10 October while playing at a park with a friend, has been confirmed to be the child whose body was found mutilated on Tuesday, 11 October. This is according to a family member who asked not to be named.
Daily Sun recently published the story about a child whose body was found mutilated at a certain field in Tamboville.
Her legs were found buried in someone’s yard, 800 metres away from the field. At the time, the family couldn’t identify their little one and were advised to take a DNA test.
The results came back yesterday, confirming that it was indeed Bokgabo’s body.Ndlovu posted the photo of his daughter and apologised that he couldn’t save her.
The community of Wattville is furious with how the search for Bokgabo ended.
They were hoping to find her alive and some blame the police for dragging their feet. They believe that the suspect should be released so that they can deal with him as umphakathi.“
When this man was found, he kept misleading the police, sending them to different places while knowing very well what he had done to Bokgabo. We are angry and we want justice to be served,” said a resident, Sindiswa Zwane.
ActionSA regional secretary Siyanda Makhubo said the party sends their heartfelt condolences to the family. The party will visit the family later today and host a memorial service for Bokgabo.
“Her death is a reminder of the brutal reality of the scourge of violence against women and children in our communities,” said Makhubo. The proceedings will be led by regional chairperson Ramosele Sethibe, constituency chairperson Phyllis Masemola, Cllr Andrew Harris and other ActionSA activists.Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said the man suspected to have murdered Bokgabo is in police custody.
