HE WAS so excited for the birth of his first child that he brought roses to the hospital gate when his fiancee gave birth.

Obed Mudiwakure (28) from Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, said he was grateful to his fiancee Charity Maluleke (22) for making him a father.

“It is a Christmas gift to me,” he said.

Obed and Charity said they were grateful for the treatment they received at Tembisa Hospital.

“I named him Seth because he was a promise from God,” said Obed, who is a pastor at Global Power Ministries.

He said he had long been praying to become a father.

“I’m glad God answered my prayers and gave me a boy. That’s why I gave him that name,” he said.

The SunTeam bumped into the couple as Obed arrived to collect Charity from hospital.

“These roses are a symbol of my love and appreciation for her for making me a father,” he said.

Obed said he would make sure Charity and their son were provided for.

“I have taken her to a mother who will help and guide her into motherhood as is tradition,” he said.

Charity said though she was new to it, she was enjoying being a mother.

“I hear the first stage is tiring, but I guess I will get used to it,” she said.

Obed, who met Charity at church in 2017, said he always knew she would become his wife because she was perfect to him.
