MAPULE Senwamadi (37) believes her daughter has the gift from the ancestors, but when she heard the girl had gone to thwasa she became very worried.
Mapule from Atteridgeville, Tshwane, said her 19-year-old daughter Josephine Senwamadi didn’t get her blessing and the girl didn’t say goodbye.
“I believe gobelas want to use my daughter’s gift for their own benefit,” Mapule told Daily Sun.
Mapule went to the gobela on Friday, 7 October after she found out that Josephine was there.
“When I got there my daughter was dressed in sangoma clothes and that disturbed me. The gobela told me my daughter had an attack so she helped her.”
The mum said when she asked more questions, the gobela became angry.
“She said I am disrespecting her and that she will deal with me,” she said.
Mapule said she is worried something bad might happen to her daughter.
She said she wants her daughter to come home and she will take her to a thwasa school of her choice and will leave prepared and with the family’s blessings.
When Daily Sun contacted the gobela, Mavis Baloyi, said: “The mother can take her daughter away but she mustn’t blame me if something happens to her.”
Josephine said her mum knows she has a calling.

“I am the one who is struggling.
“I told the gobela I don’t want my mum in my business. I will look for a job and pay for everything,” she said.
President of Dingaka Association, Andrew Mashime Somo, said before Josephine can start her training, her uncles should consult a sangoma.
