LIVHUWANI Setsepu (51) and her family are shattered after her nephew, Vincent Luvhimbi (33), was allegedly shot by his girlfriend’s neighbour in August.
Livhuwani from Lethabong near Mamelodi, Tshwane, said Vincent survived and was taken home to Venda, but he’s now paralysed.
Gladys Phadziri (50), the mother of Vincent’s girlfriend, said the couple was in the street with Vincent’s little brother when their neighbour almost knocked them over with a car.
And when Vincent tried to find out why the man wanted to hit them, he pulled out a gun. She said she was asleep when she heard her daughter screaming.
“When I got out, I found my son lying on the ground. He was shot on the head and shoulder. I woke my husband up and we rushed him to the hospital.”
Livhuwani said Vincent now uses a wheelchair.

“His mother is blind and doesn’t work. He was taking care of her. He has five kids that he was supporting. In September my mum died from a heart attack when we told her about the incident,” she said, adding that they wanted Vincent’s attacker to rot in jail.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said a case of attempted murder was opened at Boschkop Police Station.
“The suspect was arrested a day after the incident. He appeared in the Tshwane Central Magistrates Court and was granted bail on Wednesday,” he said.
