IN NOVEMBER, she lost her husband and son in a mysterious fire.
While she was still recovering from the trauma, the 27-year-old widow had to live through a nightmare on Friday, 18 March when a group of armed men stormed into her house in Acornhoek, Mpumalanga.
They shattered the windows of the house before assaulting her, her son and her three siblings, aged between nine and 21.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the woman said: “We had just gone to bed when a group of more than nine smashed the windows and the doors, threatening to petrol bomb the house if we didn’t open the doors.
“They accused me of hiding a 16-year-old girl in the house, whom they said I kidnapped and wanted to sell to a well-known business owner for rituals. We had no choice but to open the door. They ran inside and ransacked the house but found nothing.

“They started bashing us with fists, klapped us and knocked us to the floor.
“When we told them we knew nothing about the girl, they wouldn’t listen. I was still trying to get closure after I lost my husband and his family took all of his belongings. One of my boys was injured so badly that he peed blood. The gang left and promised to come back and finish us. The next morning, we saw the girl at her home but her family never even bothered to apologise to us.”
