WHAT started off as a quiet day ekasi ended in tragedy after four men were shot dead.
The incident, which happened on Thursday, 20 April, has left residents of KwaMashu B section, north of Durban, reeling in shock.
It is alleged the four victims were sitting together in one room when four suspects entered.
It's believed an argument ensued, followed by a shooting which resulted in four people being killed.
Two of the victims were brothers, Philasande and Sithembiso Buthelezi, who lived in the house where the incident took place. The other two were their friends who had visited the night before. The four suspects apparently fled the scene in a car belonging to one of the friends.

The brothers' aunt, Nombulelo Dlamini (65), told Daily Sun she was still in shock and couldn't sleep at night following the shooting.
"I was at our neighbour's house when I heard the gunshots. I thought they were coming from somewhere far. But another neighbour came and asked me to go and see what had happened in my house because the gunshots were coming from there," she said.
Nombulelo said she rushed there and found her brother's children and their friends lying in a pool of blood.
"I was so shocked and couldn't believe what had happened. They were all dead. I ran out and called for help," she said.
Nombulelo said she had no idea why her nephews were killed in such a brutal manner.
"I don't know what my nephews got up to when they were away from home because at the house they behaved well. But looking at the manner in which they were killed, it shows they might have been involved in illegal things. I'm not sure if the gunmen took anything else besides the car of one of the dead friends," she said.
She said her nephews were unemployed and had been living with her since they were young.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the incident. He and said the police were investigating the murders of four people in KwaMashu B section on Thursday afternoon.
"The motive for the shooting is unknown and and a manhunt for the suspects has been launched. Investigations to establish what could have led to the killings are underway," said Netshiunda.
