FOUR people died in a head-on collision on Saturday, 27 May.
The incident happened between an articulated truck, used in construction, and a sedan on the N17 road between Breyten and Ermelo.
Four occupants of the sedan, the driver and three passengers, died.
Two passengers in the sedan sustained serious injuries, and they were taken to the nearby Ermelo Provincial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck escaped with no injuries.
It is believed the crash may have occurred as a result of dangerous overtaking. However, the matter under investigation. At the time, the sedan was entering the N17 from R65 road.

The four people who died and the two injured passengers are all men, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years of age.
Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Vusi Shongwe, has reminded motorists to obey the rules of the road.
Shongwe said: "Most of the crashes happen at night due to various reasons which include poor visibility and reckless driving. Motorists are therefore encouraged to be more cautious and obey the rules of the road. This will help to curb these deadly crashes,"
