FOUR family members, including a three-year-old child and a pregnant woman, have died.
This after their boat capsized in the Vaal River, south of Joburg, on Saturday, 21 October.
The four, who were part of a group of 10 relatives, had come from Joburg to the Vaal to celebrate one of their birthdays.
It's alleged the four victims were not wearing life jackets and when their boat capsized, they drowned while six others survived.
One of their relatives told Daily Sun he was waiting for them at home, busy braaing meat, so they could find the food ready when they got back.

He said that around 5pm, he received a call where he was told to rush to the Vaal. Upon arrival, he was told the tragic news.
"There was a big boat that was also passing and its waves pushed the small boat that carried my family and it capsized," he said.
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said the police have opened an inquest docket.
He said 10 family members were celebrating a birthday during the boat ride on Saturday when it overturned in the water.
“While inside the river, the boat allegedly capsized. People who witnessed the incident went to rescue the victims, but unfortunately, four of the family members passed away, including a three-year-old child and a pregnant woman,” said Masondo.
