TWO families are mourning the deaths of their sons.
The two boys drowned in the Nzhelele River, Tshituni Tsha Fhasi Village, Limpopo on Sunday, 23 April.
Vhonani Chaele (11) and Pfariso Ramudidibi (12), whose parents are friends, were visiting one of their parent's relatives when they sneaked out at about 4pm and went to swim at a nearby river where they tragically drowned.
According to a close family friend, the two young friends who live in the same village had left home with their mums on Saturday morning, 22 April, to attend a party at Tshituni Ha-Malima in Limpopo.
The party was planned for one day, but the mums stayed over for one night as they were exhausted from the celebrations.
On Sunday afternoon, 23 April, four youngsters aged 11 to 14, including Vhonani and Pfariso, sneaked out to swim in the river.

Later on, the 14-year-old hurried back to call for help while the other boy kept an eye on the boys in the river.
When the older boy came back with help, one of the boys was already floating in the water. The other body was only found by police divers at bout 8pm that same evening.
Vhamusanda (Chief) Vho-Sydney Khathutshelo Mamuha, the traditional leader of Dzanani Village, told Daily Sun the incident was tragic.
"It is very painful to lose young people because we don’t know who they were going to become. What if we lost a future MEC?" said Mamuha.
He said the situation was very difficult, but they were trying to assist in every way possible.
Acting Limpopo police commissioner Major-General Jan Scheepers said cops have opened an inquest docket.
"Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident," said Scheepers.
He urged parents and guardians to ensure their children do not take part in swimming activities unsupervised.
Daily Sun tried for two days to reach one of the parents of the dead kids, but they refused to speak to the SunTeam.
