Former ActionSA leaders Bongani Baloyi (right) and Thlogi Moseki said Xiluva party is a new political home for young people.

FORMER ActionSA Gauteng chairman, Bongani Baloyi has announced his new political party called Xiluva, a Tsonga name meaning flower.

Baloyi made the groundbreaking announcement alongside former ActionSA councillor caucus leader in Ekurhuleni, Tlhogi Moseki who resigned from the party on Wednesday, 29 March for personal reasons.

During a press conference on Thursday, 30 march, Baloyi said that Moseki will join the party and take position of National Chairman

Baloyi, who also resigned from ActionSA two weeks ago, said he has received numerous requests for engagements from various political parties.

“My political journey is public record for everyone to interrogate and consume. Throughout my time in politics, I have sought to champion a cause that is beyond me,” he said.

Baloyi said this is why he decided to create a political vehicle to give a home to young people and those who are desperate for an alternative.

“This is the birth of Xiluva. A political home for those who want a real alternative led by young people.

“This political home is for those who believe that they do not have any stake into our democracy, those who are bystanders, watching politicians gamble their future away,” he said.

Baloyi who is also a former councillor, MMC and executive mayor of Midvaal under the DA administration, said his party will contest the 2024 general elections.
