SOCIAL media influencer Thuso Mulaudzi and her fiance have been in a relationship since 2016.
In 2020, he started the lobola process, paying her family half the money. He was meant to finish paying lobola on Saturday, 7 May, but he never showed up. Thuso (23) from Fourways, north of Joburg, took to social media to share the pain of being ghosted on her lobola day. She told Daily Sun he never gave her any reason not to trust him.
In the last week of April, Thuso said her fiance told her he wanted to finish paying lobola and then have a celebration. So she went home a few days earlier to prepare. But Thuso’s man left her hanging on Saturday.
“I was so happy, helping with cooking and ensuring the tent is in place, the DJ is good and that all our guests were okay,” she said.
Hours went by, but her in-laws did not pitch. “I called him, but he didn’t pick up. I then called his sister who told me she’ll call me back but never did. I went to my car and cried a bit before telling my family to eat and drink. Everyone was hurt but they were supportive,” she said.
On Tuesday, Thuso’s man called her and told her he’s not ready for this.
“I was shocked because we’re engaged. He paid half lobola and we’re living together. How is he not ready? At this point, I don’t know how we’re going to move forward.
“I’m still trying to heal and there’s no talk of him coming home,” she said.
Thuso said the person who posted on Twitter pretending to be her fiance is fake. The man posted saying the lady cheated and in revenge, he ghosted her on lobola day.
She said she’s never cheated on her man and he has never cheated on her. She said her fiance is not active on social media.
The fiance told Daily Sun he’s not ready to talk, then hung up. When we tried calling him again, his phone was off.
