WHILE many are preparing for the Easter weekend, residents in parts of KZN, Free State, Mpumalanga and Gauteng can expect wet conditions.
This is due to more rain that is expected over the weekend in these parts of the country.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) confirmed this on Thursday, 6 April.
Forecaster Kgolofelo Mahlangu told Daily Sun that such conditions will be seen on Friday afternoon.
“Nothing is expected on Friday for most parts of the country expect along the coast of the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape province. This is due to a passage of a cold front.

“There is a 30% chance of some afternoon thunderstorms over parts of the Free State, especially the central and the western parts, as well as the western parts of the North West and the eastern parts of the Northern Cape.
“I think that might spill over to the northern interior of the Eastern Cape province,” said Mahlalangu.
She said the rain would continue on Saturday and Sunday over certain areas of the country.
“Going into Sunday we can expect more or less the same situation."
Just a month ago, parts of the country were hit by severe storms.
The province that suffered most from these rains was the Eastern Cape, where over 1 000 people were housed in shelters after being displaced by flooding in OR Tambo district.
