HE has been a criminal since the age of 15, but all Hans Sepeng now wants is a peaceful life.

However, he feels he will only get this if his mother forgives him for all the wrong he has done.

The 58-year-old said he gave his life to crime at a young age.

“I started robbing people and crime became my lifestyle because my mum didn’t want to pay for my school fees. So, I dropped out of school and chose the streets.”

Hans said he had been involved in crimes like robbery, house break-ins and hijacking.

“I was arrested for seven years for hijacking, and decided to change my life while in prison. I furthered my studies even though I didn’t complete them,” he said.

He thought his life would be fine when he got out, but he was living miserably.

“I’m an old man with three kids, but my life is a living hell. I think my mum has done something to me. She is a traditional healer and making my life a disaster. I just want her to release me,” he said, adding that he was always beating people up.

“I have beaten up many people because they provoke me. Such things are not natural. I think this is a man-made curse.”

He said he did artwork, where he designed advertisement boards for businesses.

“My business is not going well. Whatever I touch gets rotten because I think I have been cursed.”

Hans said he sometimes felt like going back to crime.

“It’s so easy to go back and I am a very dangerous person. At times I get so angry and want to do it, but I don’t want to go back.”

He said many people who ended up doing crime had childhood issues.

“Many people are driven by things in their past to commit crime.”

When Daily Sun contacted his mother, Rachel (78), she said her son needed to make peace with her and his ancestors.

“He needs to bow down to his ancestors and talk to them.”

She said that she did not have a problem with her son.

“He is living in a shack in my yard. He must live alone because he is a grown man.”
