Local model and entertainer, Refilwe Modiselle, has expressed her displeasure at the “sloppiness” of the producers and writers of popular Mzansi Magic dating show Date My Family.

The media personality was unhappy that the show’s crew failed to correct a lady who kept referring to people living with albinism as “albino people” on television.

Modiselle, who is living with albinism herself, believes that the term has a stigma attached to it.

Taking to Twitter, the star slammed the show for failing to educate people on the condition.

“I just wish the Date My Family producers/writers could have corrected this lady when they shot this or before it went to edit....she kept referring to "albino people" it’s not that please.... "it’s people with albinism" it's a condition. "Albino" tends to have a stigma,” she tweeted.

In a number of tweets that followed, Refilwe continued to educate people on the condition, challenging misconceptions many have about it.
