Actor and television presenter Fezile Makhanya describes his move from pop culture to sports as a walk in the park!

The 35-year-old who previously starred on Mzansi Magic's telenovela The Queen revealed that his new journey with the Nedbank Ke Yona Team Search has fulfilled his desire to work with young football talent.

“I have always wanted to be part of things that make other people great, so sport is just one of those things. Plus, it is something I enjoy doing,” she says.

He said that sports gives him the longevity that he would not find in pop culture," You have to constantly have to reinvent yourself, sometimes it gets static"

“I am obviously thankful to the entertainment space as that is where I was able to make my name,” he adds.

The show is about amateur soccer players under the age of 26 years from around South Africa, who want to make a career out of playing the sport.

There are 48 hopefuls selected and put through tests in order to make it to the final 18-man team that will play with last year’s winners of the Nedbank Cup.

“The season premier was very exciting last month, and I realized how football is really an instrument of change,” he says.
