American neo-soul icon Erykah Badu will headline the sixth edition of the DStv Delicious International Food and Music set to take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand on 22 and 23 September 2018.
The two-day festival promises to bring some serious food for the soul with New Zealand’s young soul singer Jordan Rekei set to join Badu at the festival.
The 26 year-old is no stranger to Mzansi crowds as he recently left fans begging for more when he played his first ever South African gig in Cape Town.
Funk DJ collective Jazzanova and the British acid jazz band D’Influence will also make part of line with more acts expected to be added.
This year’s event will see the retention of the two-day format following major success in previous years with renowned acts such as Common, TKZee, Chaka Khan, Jamiroquai, Hugh Masekela, De La Soul, Lira, Macy Gray, Thandiswa Mazwai & Bongo Maffin, and Black Coffee gracing the stage in the past.
Festival director Lloyd Cornwall said people should expect good food, good music and all round good times at the Festival, a fitting atmosphere to celebrate Heritage day.
“People want to go see high quality live music and enjoy amazing food at the same time so what better way to experience this than over the Heritage Day long weekend?
“DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival attracts an estimated 40,000 visitors,” he said.
The festival is not only known as the a major music attraction in Jozi but also as a firm calendar favourite with foodies.
The Festival has hosted some of the biggest names including MasterChef SA Judge Pete Goffe-Wood, chefs Reza Mahammad, Siba Mtongana, Jenny Morris, Rachel Khoo, Ed Baines, John Burton Race and this year will see the return of Reuben Riffel.
