GOGO Mabusha Matlou's home used to be a shelter for political activists at the height of apartheid.

Her late nephew Frans Mohlala who was a former chief whip in Limpopo and deputy police minister, Cassel Mathale, used to come to her house in Bochum, Limpopo, when they were was running away from the apartheid cops at the time.

Although gogo can't remember any of that now, she was pampered on her 103rd birthday with some members of the Ekurhuleni Municipality in attendance.
