A DAD saw red when he found his baby mama drinking at a tavern on Sunday, 31 March.
She had allegedly left her child sleeping at home, and the 27-year-old baby daddy wanted to know why she left their kid alone and went boozing. The man, who is the woman's ex-boyfriend, allegedly got angry and klapped the woman.
The 22-year-old baby mama opened a case against her ex, and he's behind bars.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) spokeswoman, Lieutenant-Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 2 April, by EMPD's Bronberg precinct officers in Daveyton.
"The suspect is facing assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and domestic violence charges. The female victim alleges the incident started on Sunday when her ex-boyfriend (the child's dad), found her at a local pub and asked her about the child's whereabouts.

"The victim said the child was with the gogo. The suspect suddenly slapped her on her face. She managed to escape," said Thepa.
She said the baby mama saw the suspect the following day.
"She said the suspect claimed that the victim doesn't love the child and the victim said the same about him. The victim said the suspect became aggressive and strangled her. She tripped and fell. He continued to beat, punch, slapped and kicked her.
"People tried to stop him, but he managed to escape. He came back and continued to beat the victim. He told the victim he was going to kill her. She got away and later opened a case," Thepa explained.
She said EMPD officers located the suspect on Tuesday, 2 April. He was arrested and detained at Daveyton Police Station. The suspect appeared in court on Wednesday, 3 April.
