COPS took to the streets of Ekurhuleni to shutdown illegal outlets.
According to cops spokeswoman, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the operation was conducted from Friday, 14 July until Sunday, 16 July by cops and other law enforcement agencies.
She said 369 suspects were arrested for various cases within Ekurhuleni policing precincts with a total of 37 illegal liquor outlets shutdown.
She said: “Two unlicensed firearms were also removed from the wrong hands of the suspects during the operations in Vosloorus and Reigerpark. In Dunnotar, a gas gun that resembles a real firearm was confiscated from the suspect. Among the suspects, 176 were arrested by detectives in district police stations.”

Sekgobela said other suspects were nabbed for cases such as assault with intent to grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, theft, selling liquor without a licence, driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession and dealing in drugs, possession of dagga, domestic violence, armed robbery, possession of stolen motor vehicle and contravention of a court order.
She said all the suspects are expected to appear in their respective magistrate courts soon.
