FORMER ANC member and now Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) member Carl Niehaus is spitting fire against his former allies.

Niehaus, also known as Mpangazitha, has come out to call ANC MPs Bongani Bongo and Supra Mahumapelo sellouts for voting in favour of the removal of former Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe.

Niehaus said Bongo and Mahumapelo were pathetic "spineless jellyfish" sellouts.

He said all the 305 MPs who voted for the impeachment must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

“They must not dare to try to come up with the pathetic lame excuse that they had no choice but to commit these treacherous acts. That's absolute unmitigated crap. One always has a choice."

He said that Bongo was ungrateful since Hlophe once applied the law to the letter and pronounced an excellent and fair judgment in Bongo’s favour.

“So, this is how Bongo now thanked Judge Hlope. Talk about betrayal. How this Bongo looks at himself in the mirror, I honestly can't comprehend,” he said.

Niehaus went for Mahumapelo and said for the second time he had a choice not to commit the same betrayal he committed against Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, but chose the road of betrayal again.

“This time against Judge President Hlope. These ones have chosen to be sellouts and are truly beyond redemption. These sellout traitors don't deserve a single word of understanding or sympathy.

“They're truly beyond any redemption. I very deliberately call them sellouts, knowing very well what a fundamental condemnation it is to be called a sellout in the liberation struggle. As far as I'm concerned, they can go to hell. They must just voetsek,” he said.

Neihaus' anger comes after MPs voted in favour of Hlophe's impeachment on Wednesday, 21 February.

Hlophe was voted out by an overwhelming majority of 305, and 27 from the EFF voted against his removal.

This excluded six EFF leaders who are still on a month's suspension from Parliament activities.

Impeached Public Protector Mkhwebane accused those who voted for abusing Hlophe, who had served “with dignity".
