ROBBERS stormed into Tshepong Hospital in Klerksdorp on Wednesday morning, pointed doctors with firearms and demanded their belongings.
They took their cellphones, cash and other valuable possessions.
The North West Health MEC, Madoda Sambatha, said the suspects went to the boardroom where doctors were having a meeting.
"It is alleged that doctors at the hospital were having their normal early briefings when three armed men entered the boardroom they were in, pointed them with guns and demanded their phones, money and their valuable possessions,” said Sambatha.
The MEC questioned the security company in charge and demanded an explanation on how these men were able to pass through the security gates with guns.

“The security company indicated that all people who enter the hospital premises are checked but failed to explain how the men entered the facility with guns,” he said.
The provincial police spokeswoman, Colonel Adele Myburgh, confirmed the robbery incident.
"I can confirm that the Jouberton police opened a business robbery case after three suspects entered at the crisis center's conference room where doctors were in a meeting around 08:15 am.
"The suspects pointed the doctors with firearms, demanded cellphones and took them and ran away," Colonel Myburgh said.
According to the information, there was one of the suspect who was apprehended by the security and later handed to the police.
"At this stage we cannot confirm that he is a suspect or not, but the man was taken in for questioning," she said.
Investigations are underway.
