THE DNA test results are out and Themba Dube (36) has been positively linked to the brutal killing of seven women last year.
The women were murdered in Polokwane, Limpopo and surrounding areas.
The Zimbabwean man appeared in the Seshego Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 12 April, and the case was postponed to 26 April for indictment and a suitable court date for the high court.
He was bust on 3 November last year after being found in possession of a suspected stolen cellphone that belonged to Sarah Moitswadi Mathiba (42), who was allegedly kidnapped in Lebowakgomo in October last year and her body was found dumped near Peter Mokaba Stadium.
With a small crowd outside court to support the victims’ families, Thabitha Kganyago said they were happy with the court processes. “We want this matter to go to the high court so that justice can prevail. We want the suspect to be sent to jail for the rest of his life.”
Other victims are Moleboheng Mothibeli (34), a Lesotho woman who was reported missing in Polokwane in October last year, and Eva Makhura (41), who went missing in Seshego.
Mpho Sinyatsi (34) was reported missing from Luthuli Park Extension 9L and Andrea Cholo (25), who was reported kidnapped in Seshego in September last year.
Chisimango Gumbo (48), a Zimbabwean woman, was reported missing in Seshego in August last year and the remains of Jane Letswalo (42) were found next to Peter Mokaba Stadium. The victims have all been buried after they were positively identified through the DNA tests. Andrea’s mum, Helen Cholo, said her family has been trying to get over the death of her daughter. She said the investigating officer has promised to explain the court processes after they complained that he hasn’t been updating them.
