DITABA Molefe (38) couldn’t wait for his wheelchair to be brought to him in the house.
Instead, he rushed to the gate to accept the wheelchair.
After seven years of struggling, Ditaba from Evaton West extension 4, in the Vaal, cried tears of joy as he received a wheelchair donation from a local radio DJ and Ntswaki Khan from Henley on Klip.
Ditaba, who has been without a wheelchair since 2015, has been struggling to move around.
His mother Topsi Molefe (54) had to carry him on her back like a baby.
Lekoa FM presenter Phadima Tsotetsi, who works with Ntswaki on his current affairs show, often asked for donations from listeners to help needy families.

On Sunday, 30 October, they were able to donate four wheelchairs and Ditaba was one of the beneficiaries.
“From today, he will be able to go anywhere,” said Phadima.
Tsotetsi said after asking listeners for donations they go out to provide services in crisis and non-crisis situations to needy families, orphans, widows and the destitute.
Ntswaki told Daily Sun they knew that people couldn’t afford wheelchairs, so they were happy about the donations they got from listeners. She said they heard about Ditaba’s situation from a local councillor. the ward PR councillor and when they asked for donations they receive four wheelchairs.
“We were able to make the donation on Sunday,” she said.
Topsi said: she is delighted because the wheelchair is an aid for her son to function properly.“As a mother of a disabled child who has been struggling to get a wheelchair, I appreciate the donation.
“Thank you to everyone who made sure that my son has a wheelchair today.”

Emfuleni PR Councillor Khehla Nhlapho said: that he has been working together with Tsotetsi and Khan to assist Ditaba Molefe.“Then a miracle happened.“Such donations are proof that the community is willing to help people.”
