MADALA John Mokoena (67) from Kudumane Village in QwaQwa, Free State can't thank former president Nelson Mandela enough.

The madala survived the death penalty, thanks to Mandela.

Madala John was jailed for murder and possession of nine unlawful firearms, and the Free State High Court found him guilty of the murder of his boss on a farm outside Senekal in February 1991.
