QONCE police in the Eastern Cape have launched a manhunt for murder suspects after two men were fatally shot outside a tavern in Sweetwaters on Monday, 22 August.
Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said police received a complaint of a shooting outside a local tavern at about 5.30pm.
“At the scene, two unknown male bodies were found lying with several gunshot wounds. The investigation into establishing the motive for the shooting is currently underway,” Kinana said.
He said further investigation led to the arrest of a person believed to be the owner of the said tavern after 10 sachets of tik and four full Mandrax tablets were confiscated from his house.
“The 43-year-old male suspect is expected to appear in the King William’s Town Magistrates Court on charges relating to possession of drugs, once charged,” Kinana said. r
